I made this Minecraft scene in Blender in my first year of 3D in IMD at Confederation college. A couple of people asked me if I just took a picture of Minecraft, and no I did not. My task was to make a scene in Blender with 6 lights. I figured if I am going to include that many lights I will make it interesting. As you may already know everything in Minecraft is a cube. Everything in my scene besides the ground is a cube. I couldn’t find a good texture for the ground, and for some reason I just couldn’t figure out how to get it right. So, I problem solved I made every part of the ground a plane. Why did I say every part, well that is because I didn’t just make one plane, and scale it up, I made several planes. In fact my trees are also separate cubes. If I was going to make this today I would have just modeled on mesh for the trees, and just made a instance of it. As for the ground well, I think I would be able to figure out how to texture it right. However, for whatever reason say I couldn’t figure it out; I would have made this one plane. I think for the time this was pretty good, but I defiantly would do somethings differently.
