How I created Joe Danger

When did I first create Joe Danger?

Where Joe Danger originally came from was me just drawing on my free time. One day I felt like making up characters and then drawing them; which is rare for me because when I draw, I usually draw already existing characters like Phineas, Ferb, Sponge Bob, and others. For whatever reason I felt like drawing a 1950s detective. I think I originally drew Joe Danger, or Dave, or whatever I originally called him back in 2020. I thought drawing Joe was going to be a one and done kind of thing, but boy was I wrong.

How did I create Joe Danger?

For my 2D Illustration class we needed to create 5 silhouettes of cartoon characters that are not already existing cartoon characters. I drew 5 silhouettes, when I was on, I believe it was my fourth silhouette I was running out of Ideas, and then I remembered about Joe Danger, so I drew him. Then when it came time to decide which character we were going to draw in Photoshop, I was stuck between two a light bulb character, and Joe. I obviously chose Joe, but I am going to be creating that light bulb character in my 3D Animation & Rigging class in Blender, so then I can use him as my character in Unreal, so I might have another About a character site. Anyways back to me choosing Joe, to then draw him in Photoshop. So, I drew Joe from a front angle, a side angle, and a ¾ angle. When I was drawing Joe in Photoshop, I had to use multiple layers to draw rough sketches, and I also had to have layers that had reference images. Later we will have to draw our characters in Adobe Animate, to make a walk cycle for our characters, but as of March 17th, 2025, I haven't done that yet.
